And for brunch aficionados, the vibrant Mimosas lighten the mood, matching the bright, cheerful atmosphere of the restaurant. The Sauteed Broccoli Rabe served with beans in a light tomato broth is a subtle yet delightful side that showcases the kitchen’s attention to balancing flavor and wholesomeness.
The Cos Cobber’s specials menu is a treasure trove of culinary gems. Imagine tender Porcini Mushroom Ravioli paired with succulent sea scallops and peas nestled in a vivid tomato green sauce—each mouthful a celebration of textures and earthy, fresh notes. The Tortilla Chicken Soup offers comforting warmth, while the Fried Oysters with chipotle mayo add a smoky, crispy temptation that keeps diners coming back for more. For those seeking something heartier, the chicken dish served with mushrooms, artichoke, and Gorgonzola in a Marsala wine sauce captivates with its rich, deep flavors and elegant fusion.
Beyond the food, The Cos Cobber creates an inviting atmosphere where locals and visitors alike feel at home. As one delighted customer, Nikki B., shared, the friendly service and warm ambience make each visit memorable, even if she quipped about the quirky menu presentation. Regular patrons add to the charm, creating a genuine neighborhood vibe where friendliness greets you as much as the food.
Set just moments away from the Strickland Road Historical District and the Sachem Nature Preserve, The Cos Cobber not only serves flavorful American dishes but also offers a perfect destination for a casual meal after a day exploring the rich local culture and nature. Whether you’re indulging in the rich textures of crab cakes with sweet potato fries or enjoying a low-key lunch crafted by chefs who care, the experience is reliably satisfying.
True to its spirit, The Cos Cobber doesn’t aim to impress with high-end culinary theatrics. Instead, it wins hearts through straightforward deliciousness, warm hospitality, and a down-to-earth ambiance where good food and good company come first.
Stumbled upon this amazing spot! Great service, ambience & food. Suzie was so friendly & the customers that were local, made our day! The only thing I have to mention is that the menu on the clipboard is very odd. A rubberband?! That needs to be changed & the awful clipboard for payment. We will definitely be back!
Can't beat the place for its location. The restaurant is a one minute walk from the Strickland Road Historical District and also a mere one minute walk to the Sachem Nature Preserve. Noticed that our fellow guests were all regulars who were warmly greeted by the staff. There is ample outdoor seating. We had the crab cakes with sweet potato fries and the Cos Cobber salad. The crab cakes were just OK(hardly any crab meat), but the sweet potato fries were quite good. Didn't take any pictures of the food except for the iced tea and lemonade.
Typical American dinner. Food is simple and will fill you up for the day. Don’t expect higher end culinary dishes here. Plain, simple and that’s it. Service is friendly. I had more expectations from the omelette: This was just a mixed egg.
Their lunch specials prepared by chefs Alex are culinary delights! Great low key atmosphere and simply great service!
Great food. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff! A place for normal folks to meet drink and be happy.
They have delicious veal specials, not nearly often enough. Their parmigiana preparation was fantastic except the sauce tasted kinda canned, but even so I would order it again and again, but they haven't brought it back. Also had the piccata, next time the francese but I do love an old school parmigiana. (They have those in chicken every day of course. I wonder if they would do shrimp.) Chicken wings are offensively good, delicious, huge, attractively sauced and plated with nice trimmings including a very very chunky Bleu cheese dressing. At $8 the dozen for a happy hour special among others 7 days a week, beat me daddy eight to the bar! Speaking of which, they have live music 4-6 on Wed Thu and Fri. Other good things including pulled pork sliders, the fries are adequate but I dislike coated frozen ones, just get a potato cutter and do them fresh, this cuisine deserves that refinement. The key lime pie is *nice!* I will have to branch out and try more things, confident in their kitchen.
